Punk + late 70’s + CBGB’s + Loud + Fast = The Ramones

The Story of The Ramones

New York 1976 four guys Johnny, Joey, Tommy, and Dee Dee (I didn’t forget Marky) totally changed the spectrum of punk. Transporting punk from rowdy clubs to mainstream America’s airwaves. The Ramones proved this; they became the first punk band to get a major label deal, signing with Sire Records.

Releasing an amazing 21 Albums in a 2-decade span between 1976 thru 1996. Who else can perform 6 Songs in 15 Minutes or perform an entire album without a break? Only The Ramones. They were pop and they new it, and welcomed it. Even today you can hear their sway with advertisers using songs such as Blitzkrieg Bop to promote their products.

Their influences are from great bands The Doors, Beach Boy’s, The Kinks and The Rolling Stones, not a bad bunch to be influenced by.

Sadly, time caught up with The Ramones, Joey passed away in 2001 of Lymphoma, Jonny died in 2004 from cancer and Dee Dee died from an overdose in 2002. There is one thing time can not change, Greatness.

You have to get Loud, Fast Ramones, Their Toughest Hits - it's rock n' roll history!

The Future of Gaming: The Next Generation Gaming Consoles

Dead Or Alive 4 – Xbox 360 Exclusive

Next Generation Gaming Consoles: Who Wins?

There is little doubt that the real winner of the next-generation gaming console battle will ultimately be collective gaming community. And that community is growing fast and knows no boundaries. There promises to be gaming content to suit every taste and demographic. The sheer power of the next-generation gaming-consoles is immense. Indeed, Microsoft’s Xbox 360, Sony’s PS3 and Nintendo’s Revolution will only be limited by developer’s skill in programming games for the new systems. It will certainly take at the minimum several years of developmental exploration to even begin to reach the limits of these new machines.

Previews of the early offerings of the next-generation consoles are already breath taking in scope and design. The consoles’ graphics processing powers are immense and are augmented by sophisticated audio capabilities that will add tremendous depth to the gaming experience. Ultimately however, amongst Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo, someone will come out on top in the terms of sales and revenue. So who will it be? And why? BIGBAER will be examining all the aspects of forthcoming next-generation console wars. As hardware and software development costs soar, it is likely that at the end of this next gaming cycle there will be one less major player in the arena. Only time will tell.

Microsoft sees Xbox 360 in driver's seat

Bill Gates said he's happy with the Xbox 360--even though some detractors claim the system is slower than the PS3

REDMOND, Wash.--In a meeting with financial analysts at Microsoft's headquarters, company head honcho Bill Gates opined about the upcoming battle between his company's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3.

"Our view is basically: We've got a Ferrari. They've got a Ferrari," Gates said in a question-and-answer session Thursday. "Our Ferrari is leaving the starting line substantially before their Ferrari is, and, in most races, that's a very nice thing."

Microsoft's Xbox 360 is due to go on sale this holiday season in the United States, Europe, and Japan. Meanwhile, Sony's PlayStation 3, with its powerful Cell processor, is slated to arrive next spring.

Gates noted that the last time around [when the PlayStation 2 was released ahead of the Xbox], Microsoft was beaten to the punch and said overall sales suffered as a result.

"We tried it the other way last time," Gates said.

Robbie Bach, the Microsoft senior vice president who heads up the Xbox, said he doesn't see Sony having a demonstrable advantage with its hardware.

"They're going to be a little faster in a few areas; we're going to be a little faster in a few areas," Bach said. "The net result from a hardware perspective is going to be kind of a toss-up."

A Sony representative was not immediately available for comment.

Bach said that Microsoft should also benefit from greater developer support this time around, saying the company's easy developer tools are its "secret sauce." Developers have expressed some concern about the escalating costs of developing console video games.

Bach said there are 160 games in development for the Xbox 360, with 25 to 40 expected to be released this year, including around 15 at launch.

The analysts got to see a demo of one of those games in the works: Project Gotham Racing 3, which is being published by Microsoft.

However, the analysts didn't get to drive the console for themselves. The one Xbox 360 console on display was underneath a thick plastic display case, a disappointment to more than a few in the Wall Street crowd. [News.com]

Gomez Out West

Gomez Out West CD album cover

Gomez have been winning fans on both sides of the Atlantic for over half a decade. Since their Mercury Music Prize-winning 1998 debut Bring It On, Gomez has built an audience slowly and steadily through four studio albums and relentless touring, earning high praise far and wide, including the Los Angeles Times, who noted in a January 2005 live review, “This was an act at the top of its game, at once daring and playfully inviting—and with rabidly adoring fans embracing every note. ”. Now Gomez fans can savor the band’s explosive live performances with Out West, a two-disc set that was recorded over the course of a sold-out three-night engagement at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco in January 2005.

Out West’s career-spanning tracklist opens with the psychedelic, synthesizer-enhanced "Get Miles" and quickly moves along to the frenetic rocker "Shot Shot", proclaiming from the start Gomez’s energy and versatility. In addition to the favorites like "Whipping Picadilly" and "Bring It On", Gomez also tests the audience’s musical knowledge with a couple of covers, including Toam Wait’s "Going Out West", souding more like a Cramps song with its stomping drums, eerie guitars and thumping bass. Side two features a cover of Nick Drake’s "Black Eyed Dog", that evolves into a medley of sorts as it slowly morphs into Gomez’s own "Free To Run". The record walks the line between spacious free-form rock and a psychedelic space jam, with songs like "Here Comes The Breeze" clocking in at 8 minutes and 55 seconds, to the over 11–minute "Revolution Kind". Gomez is an outstanding band and Out West proves it.

Hot Must Have Rides for 2006 - affordable and break-the-bank - part 1

Hot Rides for 2006

If you are looking to do the summer right by impressing the ladies or you’re a 40-something looking to create your own mid-life crisis by purchasing any of these hot rides from affordable to pocket-cleaners, you will definitely enjoy riding in these bad boys.

2006 Lincoln Mark LT - www.lincoln.com
I like the way Lincoln blended power and muscle with a luxurious design. Even the interior commands a strong and sleek appearance.

And for those tech heads, it also offers a Rear Seat DVD system, so on those long trips get your Xbox 360 ready on a flip down 7 Inch LCD color monitor, you can also play DVD’s, MP3’s and CDs.

If you wonder how you can haul friends around in a pick up truck? Well, don’t worry its seats 5 full-grown passengers comfortably, I don’t know? I think that might be the same as your typically run of the mill sedan.

The power in the 2006 Lincoln Mark LT is enough to quiet the authentic pick-up truck critics. A whopping 300 Horsepower V-8 Engine should be enough, but lets just add 4x4 capabilities and a towing capacity of 8,900 lbs.

Starting a $39,995 (MSRP) I would definately purchase and modify this truck.

2006 GMC Yukon Denali - www.gmc.com
Nothing to me says, "Hi! I am an American and everything I do is bigger, better and badder than you do!" than the 2006 GMC Yukon Denali.

This by far is my favorite truck, from its design to how it glides across the road, I LOVE this truck. Check out why.

· A powerful Vortec 6000 V8 engine
· Towing capacity of 8,100 Lbs
· Seating for up to 8
· StabiliTrak vehicle enhancement system
· Autoride System
· Power –sliding sunroof, DVD player and navigation radio
· OnStar and XM Satellite Radio

With all these options, do you even need to get out of your truck? With a MSRP of $51,135 the only downfall, gas mileage but hey you’re an American.

Aston Martin DB9 http://www.astonmartin.com/thecars/db9/driverinterface

Sports cars should boast a few traits, which make them stand out above the rest, character, power, great look and fun to drive. The feel of a great car should combine all of these characteristics.

Power – All aluminum 6.0 Litre V12 Engine
Fun – 0-60 in 4.9 seconds a top speed of 186 mph
Character – Just look at the design, it is beautiful and elegant

In my opinion if you enjoy driving and also enjoy glances from onlookers make this purchase you wont regret it.

MSRP? Lots of $$$$$

A Statement

This is not a political website, nor will it be, but I think its ridiculous that we live in a world where a terror alert always seems to be on high. Today, what happened in London is disgusting, only cowards kill people in such a fashion.

The only thing they are proving is that they need to be stopped and they will be. Religion has always been a touchy issue, but you have the right to worship and believe in what you choose, these people don’t seem to realize this right, they hurt their people, they hurt their religion. Violence does not create sympathy for a cause that was never justified.

Absolutely disgusting! After the world came together during Live 8 to support stopping poverty, AIDS and issues to face us all; Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists—everyone, they do this.

Pray for those in London, pray for those in the Middle East and around the world.

Anger Management Tour - Is there still enough anger to pack the crowds?

Eminem & The Anger Management Tour

Controlling My Anger

Wow being pissed-off sells. I guess not for ordinary folks like you and me, well if this was true I would have shit load of money. Anyway, where to begin?—angry white man with a lot of tattoo’s, angry black man with a lot of tattoo’s and bullet holes and a southern man who’s played out "Yeahhhh"! is worse than Master P’s "UGGHH". Throw in some apple pie fill-in’s here and there and you get the all new Anger Management Tour.

Worth $90 bucks? Yeah I don’t think so, just punch me in the stomach defecate on my shoes and I might just be angry enough to commit a stupid move like almost paying a C-note to watch this.

If it’s anger you want, just turn the channel and you’ll get so much hate watching the cat fights on VH1’s Strip Search or watching Mini Me (Vern Troyer) trying to have sex with a Barbie doll and the frustration he gets when he finds out the plastic bitch still have 7 inches on his ass. ANGER? NOT GOOD!

Judgment Night - Soundtrack from the motion Picture

Judgment Night Movie Soundtrack CD

Judgment Night - Music from the motion picture (1993)

Since its release over 12 years ago, there has yet to be another CD that meshes rock with hip-hop collectively. Each track is unique in that you take groups on total opposite ends of the musical spectrum and bring them together to make hits.

What's sad this CD has fallen off the map and has yet to gain recognition it truly deserves. Hopefully we will see a rebirth in creativity in both rock and hip-hop. Signs of this are very evident today with groups such as The Gorillaz, Common and The White Stripes.

Check out some very unusual pairings:

Teenage Fanclub & De La Soul
Biohazard & Onyx
Slayer & Ice T
Sonic Youth & Cypress Hill
Dinosaur JR & Del tha Funkee Homosapien

Judgment Night the Movie

Judgment Night DVD

Or How Emilio Estevez saves Cuba Gooding Jr. and kicks Denis Leary's ass…

Just as the Judgment Night soundtrack has undeservedly fallen into obscurity, the movie has as well. Trust me, if you like good action, suspense and over-the-top tough guy movies you owe yourself a viewing of Judgment NightDenis Leary is brutal and unrelentless as the bad guy.
