Adenosine tri-phosphate [ATP] is one of the most important new bands on the scene today. Globally they have already garnered a very large fan base. The underground buzz is reminiscent of the early radiohead mystique. Their crossover reach is enormous: alternative, new wave, pop, industrial. I truly believe that 2002 will be the year that ATP breaks it wide open.
Vocalist Taata sings with the genius of The Cure's Robert Smith, utilizing a full and powerful range of emotion from pained vulnerability, to hard-edged self-proclamation. Soft and melodic to an aggressive staccato, Taata is masterful in her vocal stylings. She is incredibly sexy as well. Her not-too-hidden sensuality is rife throughout the twelve songs and two bonus tracks of ATP's latest release, Deranged Angel. Japanese 'sex-me' femme vocals is a description taken from ATP's MP3.com site, it hardly comes close to the truth.
