SOULMATES CD Features Music from Oscar-Nominated Film and Much More

(Chicago, IL; Tuesday, February 15, 2005) - SOULMATES, the newest album by Rene - one of the most popular creators of music for romance - features elegant original compositions, beloved classical arrangements and treasured Broadway melodies, including interpretations of two songs from the currently Oscar-nominated, Golden Globe-winning film, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.

Rene's original pieces fit seamlessly alongside selections by Tony award-winner Andrew Lloyd Weber, multiple Oscar winner John Barry, and classical composers Chopin, Satie and Debussy, evoking a special place and time in the imagination through an inspired blending of piano, cello and light orchestrations.

SOULMATES is currently airing on nationally syndicated NPR stations plus college and community radio, XM and Sirius satellite.

On SOULMATES, Rene's arrangements are both clever and smooth, best demonstrated when he melds "Clair de Lune" into Weber's "The Music of the Night," or when he spices up Barry's "Somewhere in Time" with his own "Love for All Seasons" and "Share the Moment."

But perhaps the most stirring of such medleys is Rene's brief evocation of the historic hymn "Amazing Grace" leading into what is arguably one of his most brilliant original tunes, "Anam Cara (Soulmates)." This track demonstrates Rene's consummate ability to transform the familiar into the remarkable, and then both heighten and deepen the listening experience simultaneously through his own creative vision.

SOUMATES is Rene's fifth nationally available recording. He established himself as a solo artist performing in high profile Chicago-area venues such as former Chicago Bulls basketball player Dennis Rodman's club, and at the Elmhurst Art Museum. Rene's previous recordings include UPON THE THRESHOLD (1995); FOR IT IS WRITTEN (1998), POET OF THE HEART (2000) and PIANO KEEPSAKES (2003). Rene has also contributed music to many video soundtracks including Meditation with Victoria (2001), Yoga/Stretching with Victoria (2002), and Art in the Park-Elmhurst, Illinois (2003).
