(PRWEB) October 3, 2005 -- The Indian Music Society of Minnesota (IMSOM) is celebrating its Silver Jubilee this year. This milestone 25th anniversary signifies an important achievement, accomplished through the hard work of countless volunteers as well as the generous support of grantors, members, and patrons within the Minnesotan community over the last 25 years.
To commemorate this landmark achievement, IMSOM has organized a spectacular celebration. The event will commence with a very special concert, featuring an icon of Hindustani music: Vidushi Smt. Lakshmi Shankar, who was one of the very first artists to perform for IMSOM at its inception in 1980. The other half of the concert will feature a contemporary prodigy of Carnatic music, considered one of the finest of his time: Sangeet Samrat Chitravina N. Ravikiran.
Following the concert will be a Silent Auction. Complimentary wine and light refreshments will be available and attendees will have the opportunity to bid on a dazzling array of unique items.
The evening will culminate in a formal banquet dinner, featuring authentic Indian cuisine and an interactive session with the artists. All proceeds will benefit IMSOM.
This is an opportunity for music enthusiasts and arts lovers to show their support for an organization that has brought Indian classical music to Minnesota for over a quarter of a century. We hope that you will join us for this historic celebration, as we gather to commemorate 25 years of bringing the best in Indian classical music to MN.
