Detroit Techno Militia DJ's Go National - Worldwide
After months of operating almost exclusively from within the confines of The City, the Detroit Techno Militia had assaulted your senses with an acoustic warfare harrowing from beneath the streets of the Motor City. Amassing an arsenal of classic vinyl, old school flavor and new school aggression, these soldiers took their armament to the frontlines. Mentored by submerged forces, they unleashed a guerrilla war against the most hostile of pop culture entities: The Commercialized Music Industry. Milling out homogenized forms of sonic travesty, The Machine stood unchallenged for years. Who would face the Malebolge as it continued to assimilate the traces of talent into its ever growing mass of complacency? Who would stand strong in the face of the mundane, pushing forward through the fodder while standing fast against the fold? The DTM Soldiers stood alone. After numerous urban strikes on several fronts, the Militia had made safe-havens for those seeking sanctuary from The Machine. As the front line advanced, cells began unfolding with more patriots sympathetic to the cause. Detroit moved steadily toward its manifest destiny: a demilitarized zone of artistic potential. With annexation from the status quo, a consortium was formed to stride forward. After much consideration and deliberation, the following operatives were recruited for the Detroit Techno Militia:
RECON:313.
Der Mercenary: A native of Detroit, this operative is currently partaking in sonic espionage in Brussels, Belgium. His early roots influence his method of assault: three turntables strong, cutting techno, industrial, and new wave with various effects processors and other electronic instruments. He can be seen destroying dance floors in and around Europe.Neil V: Another Detroit native with almost 10 years of working his ass off behind the decks, this operative has recently taken up residence in New York City. Known for cutting between various styles of techno, electro, and even a bit of house, this soldier has proven his ability to work any dance floor. Neil has just recently stepped up to the plate in producing his own tracks, so be on the look out for future releases.
Ja'Maul Redmond: Not much is known about this operative. A native of Flint, MI, he took up residence in Charlotte N.C. some time ago. He brings the pain in the form of two Quasimidi Polymorphs. Best described as The Vision meets Octave One with a bit of Drexciya, his live P.A.'s are quickly becoming legendary. Together these three combatants form the core of the RECON:313 unit of the DTM. Their mission is to keep the fire of the Detroit Underground burning outside the homeland, providing Shock and Awe for those abroad.

Danzig Announces First North American Tour Dates
Legendary dark metal artist GLENN DANZIG and his band DANZIG will kick off a month-long North American tour on February 18 in St. Louis, MO wrapping up in Anaheim, CA on March 15 (full itinerary below). The 19-date trek will feature Glenn Danzig/vocals, Tommy Victor/guitars, Jerry Montano/bass, and Johnny Kelly/drums, and is in support of Danzig's latest album, "Circle of Snakes," released in September 2004. Type O Negative's Kelly drummed for Danzig on previous European tours, but this will be his first full U.S. tour with the band."Circle of Snakes," Danzig's ninth album, features several cryptic tunes that are psychological in nature, tunes that allude to the struggle between the good and evil within us all, and is a return to the simplistic brutality of the group's 1988 self-titled debut. "Circle of Snakes" Is introspective and challenges the listener to bring a part of himself to it, to interpret its meaning. As Danzig said, "Life is a constant battle, surviving daily life and the battle within yourself."
In addition to the release of "Circle of Snakes" and the winter U.S. Tour dates, Danzig has completed "Black Aria II," the follow up to 1993's "Black Aria" which reached the #1 position on Billboard's Classical chart. "Black Aria II" focuses on Lilith, a mythical figure and Eve's predecessor as the first wife of Adam who has come to symbolize female independence and rebellion. It is said that Lilith was banished to the desert, had sex with demons, brought plagues to the Earth, and, taking on the form of a serpent, seduced Eve to eat the fateful apple. "Black Aria II" was produced by Danzig. An early summer 2005 release on Danzig's Evilive label is expected.
Danzig is also in the process of writing the screenplay for a film adaptation of "Gerouge," one of the comic book titles distributed by his Verotik publishing company; the film will mark his feature film directorial debut. "Gerouge" takes place in New Orleans at the turn of the 20th century, and word is that it will be "full of zombies, snake rituals, and some of the most gruesome scenes ever put on film." Rainstorm Productions is producing the feature, no release date has been set.
Glenn Danzig has received many titles, from the Godfather of dark metal to a man of integrity, but most agree that over his 25-year career, his intense musical and lyrical statements have left a permanent mark on rock music. Danzig's music is dark, gothic, and haunting, an intense Californian twist on Black Satanic Metal that would probably send chills up the spines of today's Norwegian church burners.
