The career of DJ M-80 AKA Mr. Michael Stokes began back in '95 while the future deejay was still in grade school. Growing up on the Southside of Chicago and being around older family members that were already deejays, Michael Stokes had plenty of exposure to this complex artform. As time went by Michael found himself devoting more and more of his time to mastering the art of rocking parties specializing in hiphop, reggae, r&b, old house but not limiting himself to just black parties. He has been known to make whites,blacks, asians, and latinos sweat their hair out in a party. Michael admits that being a young DJ has its setbacks: promoters and other affiliates of the party and club scene, critique your ability based on your age; sometimes without giving you a chance to rep. Once you have a chance to prove yourself, it's like "Damn! You rocked that joint!" Michael says, "It shouldn't have to be like that. Then you have some that do not want to pay your full rate for the night or hour for which you spin. All because you're young to the game. " That is why you show them your are about business as well as deejaying up front. Currently a sophmore at Northern Illinois University studying, for a degree in Communications, Dj M-80 is a certified party rocka. He released his first mix cd in January of 2001, selling them on the college campus and Chicago's streets. The World Premiere DJ M-80 is a certified HOT PARTY MIX.
